    RONCESVALLES REFUGEE RELIEF

Eva Stachniak, who lives in the Roncesvalles neighbourhood, told us about the Roncesvalles Refugee Relief (RRR) – a community initiative helping refugees build their new life in Toronto.

None of us in the Roncesvalles neighbourhood could fail to be moved by the refugee crisis. In true Canadian spirit we think globally and act locally – making a difference one family at a time.  So we’re aiming to sponsor a refugee family in our west end Toronto neighbourhood.  We urge you to join us by donating, volunteering, attending our fundraising events or contributing in other ways.

Our group now includes 40 neighbours and friends.  We are meeting regularly to discuss our sponsorship application, fundraising, and the many things the newcomers will need to begin their new life in Canada.  Our goal was to raise $50,000. (RRR’s website)
