It was my great pleasure to be invited by the Institute of English Studies at the University of Warsaw, where I studied and then worked and where I did my Ph.D. before coming to Canada.

Welcome to the “Canadian” Episode 95 , in which you will hear three interviews:

The Canadian Studies programme at the University of Warsaw

    • Dr. Ewa Luczak, Professor and Deputy Chair at the Institute of English Studies, University of Warsaw and President of the Polish Association for American Studies, author of several books. Prof. Luczak is in charge of the Canadian Studies programme on behalf of the Institute of English Studies.

    Canada’s Ambassador to Poland

Her Excellency Catherine Godin has worked in several federal departments and with the International Committee of the Red Cross in Burundi and Sri Lanka. She joined the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade in 2001. In Ottawa she was director general of the Office of Human Rights, Freedoms and Inclusion as well as executive director of the Human Rights and Indigenous Policy Affairs team and director of the Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Response Group. She has also held various positions abroad, including counsellor and program manager at the Canadian embassy in Washington, D.C., and deputy permanent representative at Canada’s mission to the United Nations in Geneva.

She began her mission in Poland in Feberuary 2023 as the successor to the previous Canadian Ambassador Leslie Scanlon.
