Bartek (Bart) Soroczynski was born in Poland into a circus family. He emigrated to Canada with his parents, trained as a circus artist and after playing the leading part in “Nomade” by Cirque Eloize (with which he travelled widely and received the 2005 GEMINI AWARD together with the artists from Nomade (Cirque Eloize) for the film Nomade : At Night, the Sky is Endless in the Best Performance in a Performing Arts Program or Series Category, Toronto Film Festival, Canada), he was introduced to the theatre. This started a wave of success and acting engagements all around the world, in many languages. He is now based in Bern, Switzerland.

Nomade was played in Poland, at the Teatr Muzyczny Roma in Warsaw, 19-21 May 2005. While performing in Warsaw the whole cast visited Julinek near Warsaw, the home of the one and only Polish State Circus School, where Bart’s father (Krzysztof Soroczynski, the head coach for Nomade) studied and trained to become a circus artist. He was very proud to show his son and the group from Canada in his school and had many stories to tell. It was an unbelievable moment for everyone, says Bart.
